Some Like It Hot (1959)
A: Sugar Kane Kowalczyk (Marilyn Monroe) B: Jerry (Jack Lemmon) C: Joe (Tony Curtis)
B: Terribly sorry. A: It's ok. I was scared it was Sweet Sue. You won't tell anybody, will you? C: Tell what? A: Well, if they catch me once more, they're gonna kick me out of the band. [takes a swig from her flask] You're the replacements for the bass and sax? B: That's us. And I'm Daphne. This is, uh, Joe...sephine. A: Come in, come in. I'm Sugar Kane. C: Sugar Kane? A: Yeah. I changed it. It used to be Sugar Kowalczyk. B: Polish? A: Yes. I come from this musical family. My mother's a piano teacher. And my father was a conductor. C: Where did he conduct? A: On the Baltimore and Ohio. B: Oh. [Joe and Jerry don't quite know what to say.] A: I play the ukulele, and I sing, too. B: Sings, too. Ha ha ha! A: Well, I don't have much of a voice, but then this isn't much of a band, either. I'm only with them because I'm running away. C: Running away from what? A: Oh, don't get me started on that. [pours some bourbon on a disposable cup] Here. You want some? It's bourbon. B: I'll take a rain check. Ha ha ha ha ha ha! A: I don't want you to think I'm a drinker. I can stop any time I want to, only I don't want to, especially when I'm blue. C: We understand. A: All the girls drink. It's just that I'm the one that gets caught. Story of my life. I always get the fuzzy end of the lollipop.
